Arado is a Korean style Japanese sashimi restaurant. If you haven’t tried Korean style Japanese sashimi, then I highly recommend it. Korean style means that the sashimi is usually served omakasa/kaiseki style where you get multiple courses of dishes. Usually they start with some cooked dishes such as abalone porridge, ankimo (monkfish liver), unagi (grilled eels), etc. The highlight is the big plate of sashimi that comes towards the middle/end courses. After the sashimi there is usually the “meal” which consists of a hot stew (sometimes spicy fish stew, sometimes not spicy) and some rice.
The sashimi can be ordered as an assorted sashimi which usually includes fish such as salmon, tuna, halibut, yellowtalk, uni, abalone, amaebi, lobster, etc. Sometimes rather than an assortment, people will go for a single fish (usually halibut).
Arado is one of the better Korean style Japanese sashimi restaurants in LA. The sashimi usually runs about $60-$100 or so per person which is a great deal.
